Hund leaves RNDC to be VP sales for Deep Eddy

Premium spirits company, Deep Eddy Vodka, based in Austin, Texas has announced the appointment of Eric Hund as its new vice president of sales. Hund will report to Deep Eddy president Eric Dopkins and he replaces John Potts who is leaving to pursue other interests.

Hund has over 19 years of experience on both the distribution and supplier side of the spirits industry. Prior to joining Deep Eddy Vodka, he held various leadership positions with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC) in Texas. Most recently, he led the Eagle Division as vice president. During 15 years at RNDC, he has established a proven track record of leadership and sales success which includes the exceptional growth of Deep Eddy Vodka in Texas.

Eric Dopkins says: “Eric has been an important part of Deep Eddy’s success over the past several years. For a brand so deeply rooted in Texas, he recognized the tremendous opportunity for and worked closely with our leadership team to execute the vision for Deep Eddy Vodka in our home state. We are excited to have him lead our Deep Eddy sales team nationally and continue the extraordinary growth of the brand.”

Deep Eddy Vodka is one of the fastest-growing brands in the distilled spirits industry. Since its introduction in 2010 with the original Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka and Deep Eddy Straight Vodka in 2011, the business has grown to over 700,000 cases today. Deep Eddy Vodka is propelled by its Austin-bred roots, use of all-natural fruit juices, production process and iconic brand imagery. In September, Deep Eddy Vodka was acquired by Heaven Hill Brands, the nation’s largest, independent family-owned and operated distilled spirits supplier.

“I am excited to play a larger role in the growth of Deep Eddy Vodka,” says Hund. “Our team includes many of the most energetic and committed sales people in the business. They embody Deep Eddy’s entrepreneurial spirit and unique roots.”
