Cava labels feature Catalan Trencadís design

Cava producer, Vilarnau has unveiled the latest eye-catching limited edition labels for its Brut Reserva and Brut Reserva Rosado.

The new designs, which will start to be seen on shelf in the coming weeks, showcase the Catalan Trencadís design.  This year’s labels see a new take on the Trencadís mosaic used in Catalan modernism and popular amongst architects like Antoni Gaudi and Josep Maria Pujol. Using the ‘pique assiette’ technique, the mosaic is made up of broken pieces of ceramic tiles and dinnerware and bring the bottles to life in a colourful and traditionally Spanish way.

Comments Ben Wyse, Vilarnau brand manager, Gonzalez Byass: “We first launched our limited edition Trencadís labels last year and they gave the range great stand out on shelf as well as being a talking point for anyone enjoying Vilarnau. Being situated so close to Barcelona, and the famous Parc Güell, which demonstrates this incredible design so well, it is a natural fit for us to recreate this artistic theme on our Vilarnau labels.”

Vilarnau Brut Reserva, Penedes DO, is produced from Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel-lo and the Vilarnau Brut Reserva Rosado, Penedes DO, produced from Trepat and Pinot Noir

Both wines are available in the UK through Gonzalez Byass UK.
