Douglas Laing releases Scallywag 13 Years Old

Scallywag 13 Years Old, a limited edition 'big brother' to the original Scallywag Speyside has been released by Douglas Laing & Co.

The new release is matured exclusively in Sherry butts and is the first global Scallywag release to carry an age statement. Packaged in a ruby-red gift tube, the colour palette is said to honour the spiced, dark and fruity malt inside.

Douglas Laing’s director of whisky, Cara Laing comments: “Our own Scallywag as a pup was a cheeky rascal. He grew older, wiser and more mature, and that youthful exuberance gave way to an enhanced spirit with even more personality and depth. The same can be said for our Scallywag 13 Years Old, an explosive Sherry bomb with a rich complexity at its heart. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!”

In line with the Douglas Laing philosophy, this Speyside “Vatted” Malt is offered without colouring or chill-filtration and bottled at 46% alcohol strength.

Scallywag Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky first launched in 2013, in homage to the Douglas Laing family’s long line of Wire Fox Terriers, and is now sold in almost 50 markets worldwide.
