Scott Laing joins 71 Brewing as sales manager

Dundee based 71 Brewing has hired Scott Laing as its new sales manager.

Scott has a career in sales spanning 12 years, 10 of which have been dedicated to the beer trade. He was recruited as a field sales executive by TCB in 2006 and joined Belhaven two years later as sales account manager for North East Scotland, a position he held for six years.

Scott joins 71 Brewing from McEwan’s Beer Company where he was a business development executive responsible for 300 accounts across Fife and Tayside.

Commenting on his appointment, 71 Brewing founder, Duncan Alexander, says: “We’d heard about Scott even before he applied – he’s one of those guys who knows everyone in the trade and everyone knows and respects him. Relationships are all important when it comes to building a brand like ours from the ground up and Scott really stood out because of his connections, his presence – and I’m not just talking about his height – his professionalism and his energy. He’s making great inroads already for us in the trade.”

Since launching its flagship beer 71 Lager in January, 71 Brewing has secured over 40 accounts for both bottle and draught.

71 Brewing is a new urban craft brewery located in the heart of Dundee. A 7,200sq ft 25hl brewhouse now occupies a building that formed part of the historic Blackness foundry complex from which 71 Brewing takes its name.
