Glencadam launches 13 Years Old

Glencadam Distillery has announced the launch of its limited edition 13 Years Old.

The expression is considered by the distillery to be rare because in the Autumn of the year 2000, Glencadam distillery fell silent, only to be “re-awakened” in the Autumn of 2003. This 13 years old limited edition is from the re-start of distillation.

The new release has been bottled at 46% vol and packaged in a shimmering gold colour. Like all the editions in the range with age statements, the 13 years old has not been chill-filtered and no colouring has been added. Each of the 6000 bottles produced is individually numbered.

Brand development director, Duncan Baldwin says: “We are fortunate enough to be able to produce excellent malt at Glencadam and we are also blessed by being able to retain age statements on the vast majority of our releases. The Re-Awakening 13 year old edition is characterised by its rich flavours of ripe fruit accompanied by smooth vanilla sweetness resulting in a taste to meet the most discerning of whisky lovers preferences.”

The new 13 year old Glencadam is available and will sell in mainstream western European markets, Asia and the USA.
