Angus Dundee Distillers has released a 50 year old blended grain Scotch whisky, its first "very mature" blended grain product.
The new whisky was distilled in Scotland in classic column stills and was made using wheat, un-malted cereals and malted barley.
It has matured for more than 50 years in American white oak.
The rare, limited release whisky has been bottled in crystal decanters and is displayed in ornate, deluxe, velvet lined wooden boxes. Only 390 decanters have been originated and each one is individually numbered.
Brand development director, Duncan Baldwin adds: “I never thought mature grain whisky could exhibit such depth of flavour and quality. This 50 year old blend is extraordinarily good.”
Angus Dundee 50 Years Old Blended Grain Scotch whisky will be available in travel retail and selected domestic markets. In UK domestic the RRP will be around £899 a bottle and in Europe around €1000.
