Torres introduces El Pisco Gobernador

Torres, Spain’s fifth generation family wine producer has launched El Pisco Gobernador.

As well as wine production, Torres has been producing brandy in Spain since the 1940s. With their knowledge of grapes and global distribution, it wasn't long before they turned to pisco production and El Gobernador started to become a reality. The first bottling occurred in 2010.

Miguel Torres Senior now runs the Spanish operations in Vilafranca del Penedès close to Barcelona, while his son, also Miguel runs the Chilean operations. The winery in Curico, southern Chle has been use since the 1970s.

Hailing from Ovalle, El Gobernador is named after the first Governor of the area, Felipe Margutt Donaire who was pivotal in the reshaping of the region after the Latin American war of Independence.

The pisco is distilled from a blend of 50/50 Muscatel Rosada and Muscatel Del Alexandria. RRP £30.
