Bloomsbury Club Bar welcomes Mezcal Week

London Mezcal Week will witness The Bloomsbury Club Bar adding 30 varieties of Mezcal to its extensive drinks list. The bar is transforming into a Mexican theme between 11-24 September 2017.

The Bloomsbury Club Bar has been working with Eduardo Gomez – founder and director of London’s Tequila and Mezcal Festivals – and will be offering 30 varieties of Mezcal to be enjoyed with citrus fruit and salt. Highlights include Amores Espadin, Oaxaca (£10.50), Bruxo No.1 (£11) and Mezcales de Leyenda, Durango (£15). Also on offer are Quiquiriqui, Oaxaca (£9), and Bruxo No.5, Tobala, Oaxaca (£18). An assortment of Mezcal gins will also be available, including Pierde Almas Botanica (£30) as well as a Mezcal coffee liqueur – Dangerous don Coffee Infused Mezcal (£16).

Alongside the list of Mezcal variations and blends, The Bloomsbury Club Bar staff have designed a range of Me cap cocktails. Highlights include the Espresso Mezcaltini – Dangerous Don coffee infusee Mezcal, Espresso, Gomme (£12), the rich and smoky Megroni – Burrito Fiestero, Campari, Cocchi Torino (£11), and the refreshing Mezcal Martinez – Quiquiriqui, Byrrh, Cocchi Americano, Maraschino Liqueur, Peyshaud Bitters (£12).

Bar manager Brian Calleja comments: “It’s great to see a rise in the popularity of this fantastic spirit so we can’t wait to be part of London’s first Mezcal Week. It is so exciting to be offering Europe’s largest collection of Mezcal at The Bloomsbury Club Bar and I hope we introduce lots of our guests to their new favourite drink!”

Additionally, The Bloomsbury Club Bar will be hosting a live panel discussion, ‘The Future of Mezcal’, on Wednesday 13 September from 2pm-4pm. This will feature some of the industry’s leading players such as Tomas Estes, Carlos Moreno, Gaby Moncada, Jesse Estes, Stuart Fritz and Jon Anders Fjeldsrud.
