Buckingham Schenk has announced the launch of a new Patagonian wine from Viñalba. Viñalba Patagonia Malbec de la Familia has been listed by Morrisons and is available with immediate effect, RSP £9.25. This is the third Viñalba listing for Morrisons and follows hot on the heels of the Malbec rosé which was listed by the retailer in June.
Viñalba’s Patagonian wines come from its winery and estate in Alto Valle, in Río Negro where the vines sit at 220m above sea level. The Antarctic influences keep the temperatures low but the winds prevent diseases in the vineyards.
Patagonia is fast gaining recognition as a premium wine region, and Viñalba’s wines have their own distinctive character and strong structure.
The whole Viñalba portfolio will be available to taste next month at its very own pop-up shop, La Casa del Vino Viñalba which is being created as part of the brand’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Situated in the heart of Shoreditch, La Casa del Vino Viñalba will be the first of its kind in the UK for a still wine producer. The shop will be open to the public from 3 to 7 October and will play a central role in the birthday festivities. Owners Hervé and Diane Joyaux Fabre will be there from Argentina during the week to present the wines to customers and host a special trade event.
Craig Durham, managing director at Buckingham Schenk comments: “Another new listing for Viñalba is fantastic news as we count down to the brand’s 10th birthday next month. We are thrilled to have gained 3 new listings this year for Viñalba and this is a real testament to the hard work of the team and the outstanding quality of the wines. We are really looking forward to toasting Viñalba’s success at La Casa del Vino Viñalba in October with our friends and colleagues of the wine trade.
