International Beverage's anCnoc has announced Peatheart as the latest release to its collection.
Crafted at the Knockdhu Distillery at Knock in Aberdeenshire, Peatheart takes its name from the nearby peat bogs and its abundance of natural resources.
Peatheart has a phenol content of 40 PPM which anCnoc claims makes its the smokiest expression to date. Matured in Bourbon barrels for over a decade, the brand claims that this expression celebrates the traditions of the whisky making process, as peat was historically an essential fuel in the drying of barley for the distillation of the liquid.
Peatheart’s packaging honours the minimalist yet contemporary style of anCnoc’s core range. Encased in a black and gold foil pack, the design features a golden eagle, a bird of prey which is frequently spotted soaring above the peat bogs local to the distillery.
Karen Walker, marketing director of anCnoc whisky comments: “When we first launched the Peaty Collection we had no idea how successful it would be. Seven awards and seven expressions later, we’re excited to announce Peatheart as our latest and ongoing release”.
The whisky will be made available through the independent and Specialist Retailers including Royal Mile Whiskies, The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt at an RRP of £52 for 70cl.
