Think Brands launches Pampelle in the UK

Independent spirits company Think Brands has launched Pampelle apéritif in the UK.

Flavoured by red grapefruits from Corsica and select botanicals, the low sugar apéritif has a profile suited to a range of cocktails.

Pampelle will be distributed in the UK by Mangrove.

Once the grapefruits have been harvested, they are taken to a distillery on the banks of the River Charente in the town of Cognac, South West France.

The grapefruits are halved and macerated in copper vats, before the master distiller takes citrus peel and botanicals from around the world including yuzu from Japan, cedrat from France and orange bigarade from Haiti. These are distilled before being infused into the batches of grapefruit and blended with cinchona tree bark quinine, gentian bitters and a grape eau de vie.

Each bottle is stamped with the seal of a Damselfly, a protected native species represeting the environment in which Pampelle is produced.

Founder, Patrick Borg, says: “Inspired by my Mediterranean heritage and love for all things French, I am delighted to announce the global launch of Pampelle Apéritif Français to the World, and thrilled that it is now available through Mangrove in the UK.”

Nick Gillett, managing director of Mangrove, comments: “Pampelle is a fantastic addition to Mangrove’s liqueur portfolio. The distinctive packaging is inviting, and the clarity of flavour is testament to the craftsmanship. It makes the perfect base for cocktails and we anticipate it becoming the go-to drink this summer.“

Pampelle is 15% ABV and has an RRP of £20 for a 770cl bottle.
