Whyte & Mackay has released a 50cl bottle of its blended whisky following the introduction of minimum unit pricing in Scotland.
The new bottle has an RRP of £10.
While the expansion of Whyte & Mackay’s range of fractional sizes is in response to new MUP laws, the brand has suggest that the move also comes in the wake of changing consumer trends – with smaller sized bottles now accounting for 35% * of all spirit sales.
Whyte & Mackay have confirmed listings are already in place among national convenience store retailers alongside the brand’s existing 70cl and 1L bottles.
The blended whisky has further plans to increase its 2018 consumer offering, with the launch of a price marked pack this year.
Ruairi Perry, head of blended whisky at Whyte & Mackay says: “At Whyte & Mackay, we pride ourselves on fulfilling the needs of the consumer, which is why it was important that we expand our offering to include a smaller size of our much-loved whisky. With new price changes in Scotland, we wanted to give our consumers more choice and value for money when it comes to their whisky purchase. We’re confident our new 50cl bottle will quickly become a new favourite on shelves.”
