Radico Khaitan has launched a new expression of its Rampur Indian single malt — Rampur Double Cask. The expression will launch at the The Whisky Show in London.
Launching in the UK in October, Rampur Double Cask single malt is a single malt matured in hand-selected American Bourbon barrels as well as European Oak sherry casks chosen by master distiller, Anup Barik.
Rampur is produced in India’s oldest distillery in the foothills of the Himalayas. Distilled in copper pot stills, the malt matures for two-thirds of its life in handpicked American Bourbon barrels and a third in European Oak sherry casks at India’s largest distillery and is then non-chill-filtered and bottled at 45% ABV.
Double Cask is consistent with the presentation of the Rampur portfolio in its bottle design and is presented in an embossed sand and copper drum, reflecting the brand’s heritage.
Describing the packaging, Sanjeev Banga president of Radico Khaitan says: “A perfect harmony of American and European Oak is reflected in the luxurious packaging, with the warmth of Indian flavours and culture extending the world heritage of Rampur.
A 70cl bottle has an RRP of £60 and will be available exclusively at The Whisky Exchange from October 2019.
