The Kyoto Distillery to open brand house

The Kyoto Distillery is opening its first brand house, The House of Ki No Bi, in central Kyoto City.

Since launching its flagship product, Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry Gin, in October 2016, the distillery has received awards including Craft Producer of the Year 2019 at Gin Magazine's Icons of Gin Awards.

The House of Ki No Bi will offer a blending room, seminars for gin enthusiasts and a shop with exclusive items to showcase the distillery's brand philosophy and identity as a pioneer of Japanese gin. Co-founder, David Croll says: “Our ambition is to bring alive the Ki No Bi brand and the spirit of Kyoto to the 50+ million annual visitors to the city we are proud to call our home.”

The House of Ki No Bi is located within a renovated traditional ‘machiya’ townhouse, which was built more than 100 years ago as a timber mill. The renovation, designed by The Kyoto Distillery architect, preserves the original interiors including earthen walls, beams and roof tiles to keep the ambience of a traditional ‘machiya’.
