Hayman Distillers unveils new spirits merchant Symposium

Hayman Distillers has taken a bold leap into the retail market with the opening of its own spirits merchant.

Symposium will market products including gin, vodka and Scotch whisky, with a seven-strong sales team spread across the UK working in on- and off-trade sales.

Its portfolio will be split into three tiers. Heritage will comprise Hayman's Gin, Small Gin and the recently launched Merser & Co rum brand, while the Challenger and House ranges will provide a choice of branded options in categories including Scotch, tequila, vodka and sambuca. In time, Hayman says the range will be extended to include both in-house and agency brands.

James Hayman, co-owner of Hayman Distillers, said: "By combining two parts of our business we have created an offer with reach across the whole of the UK and a branded portfolio spanning London's favourite gin distillery, the first rum blending house in London for more than one hundred years and the revolutionary Small Gin.

"Our extensive range and in-depth technical knowledge allows us to work with customers of all types and sizes to find solutions and approaches that work for them. Our approach respects tradition but is not bound by it."
