The Shard bar unveils exclusive That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottling

That Boutique-y Whisky Company is in high spirits after seeing a tie-up with a restaurant at The Shard in London come to fruition.

The independent bottler joined forces with Oblix to create a bottling to be served and sold exclusively at the 32nd-storey bar and restaurant.

With a brief from bar manager Aaron Masonde to explore different Speyside styles, the Boutique-y team found the dream dram in a Tullibardine 11 Years Old Single Malt.

Bottled at 46.6% ABV, Boutique-y says the whisky has notes of floral honey, vanilla, maple and soft fruits, while citrus, pear drops and sweet barley on the palate give way to a finish of fudge, black pepper and dried apricots.

A unique label, hand-illustrated by artist Emily Chappell, has been designed for the limited run of 326 bottles featuring the view from Oblix.

Liz Thomas, head of bespoke sales at That Boutique-y Whisky Company, said: "The team at Oblix have always been big supporters of Boutique-y and we've always admired Aaron's passion for great whisky, so we thought they would be the perfect partners for our first bespoke whisky with a British bar.

"Together, we tasted a range of cask samples and bespoke blends from the Boutique-y blending rooms before landing on the Tullibardine 11 Years Old Single Malt."

The special bottling for Oblix is currently being served in the bar, neat, by the bottle and in cocktails on the menu specially designed to accentuate its flavours. These include the Banana, which sees the whisky mixed with coconut water, tonka and Angostura bitters.
