How you can design your own Jameson whiskey bottle label

A new partnership between Jameson and Dublin-based designer Stephen Heffernan is giving consumers the chance to create their own bespoke bottle label.

Designer and illustrator Heffernan, AKA Hephee, has created a limited-edition bottle for the Irish whiskey distiller to mark St Patrick's Day (17 March), with a design which represents the celebrations that will take place between friends on the day.

But his design goes further than previous editions, with connected technology inviting fans to make their own virtual label using his templates and icons. Using a QR code on the neck of the bottle, buyers can access a design portal that allows them to customise a label. Once happy with their design, they can enter it into a competition to win a bespoke Jameson bar sign or their own personalised limited-edition bottle.

Brendan Buckley, international marketing director at Irish Distillers, said: “We are hugely excited about this innovative Jameson bottle. This year we are deepening the connection with our fans with an offering that reflects the brand’s appreciation of local talent through Stephen’s artwork, and encourages digital engagement that taps into the growing popularity of customisation through the connected nature of the bottle."

This eighth addition to the Jameson collectable limited-edition bottle series will be available through off-trade channels in 22 markets, including Europe, Canada and Japan, from February 2020.
