Catch Ireland's Muff Liquor Company at Camden Market pop-up

An Irish gin maker is set for its UK debut as its products go on sale in London this month.

The Muff Liquor Company, based in the village of Muff in County Donegal, uses a potato base spirit made from Irish spuds to create its vodka and gin, which are both gluten-free and vegan. The use of a potato spirit was inspired by founder Laura Bonner's grandfather, a well-known Irish potato farmer with a penchant for making his own poitín.

Muff Gin is distilled in a pot still and features a blend of nine botanicals, including mandarin, elderflower and champagne essence, while its vodka has an added hint of vanilla. Both spirits are six times distilled, which the company says gives them a clean, creamy texture.

The brand will launch in the UK with a pop-up bar in Camden Market as part of the Mayor of London's St Patrick's Festival on 14 and 15 March, a celebration of Irish food, drink, music and culture.

Laura Bonner said: "Our first UK pop-up is a huge opportunity for us to showcase our products to a new audience. Camden Market is an iconic London hotspot which I have always loved. It attracts Londoners and visitors from across the globe who seek our new experiences and unique products, so we felt it was a natural fit for our first UK activation."
