Ginking scores deal with Dutch cash-and-carry store Silgro

Ready-to-drink (RTD) brand Ginking has secured a new distribution deal with cash-and-carry store Silgro in the Netherlands.

Ginking, a "botanically infused fizz" combining wine and London Dry gin, will see its Mediterrean RTD hit shelves at the supermarket this month.

It follows two other off-trade distribution deals signed since the start of 2020 and due to come into force this spring, with Dairy Farm International's supermarkets and Coldstorage in Singapore.

In the UK the brand is stocked in retailers including Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Morrisons, while it is also on shelves in Spain, Germany, Canada and the USA.

Ginking's chief commercial officer Simon Cant, who took up the post in autumn 2019, said: "Ginking is a tremendously exciting brand, as it harnesses current mega-trends such as bring a lower ABV, a long and refreshing drink and made with gin.

"Our new international customers now also recognise the same superior qualities our major UK retail partners identified when they took Ginking on in recent years."

At 8.5% ABV, around 29% lower than an average glass of sparkling wine, Ginking is winning fans looking to lower their alcohol consumption.
