Adnams' Ghost Ship 0.5% fridge packs prove popular with punters

Suffolk brewer Adnams is reaping the benefits of introducing a handy fridge pack for its popular Ghost Ship 0.5% low-alcohol beer.

Introduced by Adnams in 2018, the Ghost Ship 0.5% was a response to the growing trend for low and no-alcohol alternatives for beer drinkers.

To create a new packaging solution to bring it to market, the Southwold-based brewer turned to Saxon Packaging, which designed a convenient fridge pack for the product. It is designed to house four 330ml cans horizontally, with a new can moving into place when one is removed, and includes tear-away perforations.

It is printed using a four-colour lithographic process which compliments Adnams' eye-catching Ghost Ship artwork and is finished with matt film laminate. It is made from easily recyclable corrugated cardboard, in line with Adnams' efforts to be as sustainable as possible.

Mike Impson, sales director at Saxon Packaging, said: "The packaging design for the Ghost Ship 0.5% 4 x 330ml Fridge Pack really changes the way that consumers perceive a traditional four-pack of beer. Customers who would traditionally want to bring a smaller quantity of beer to a party no longer have to carry in an underwhelming plastic ring or struggle with individual bottles. Instead, they can proudly present a highly finished, well-presented pack of beers that represents value."

He added: "With an initial order of 10,000 units, we are thrilled to hear that Adnams is very happy with what we have produced fro them."
