The Cotswolds Distillery has taken inspiration from the beauty of the Arts and Crafts movement for its latest whisky release, with its new Heart & Crafts Sauternes Cask Single Malt Whisky. This is the first in an exciting line of upcoming Cotswolds single malt releases, and marks the first European Oak Cask expression by the distillery.
As the name suggests, the distillery has taken a creative approach with its packaging; each edition in the new Hearts and Crafts collection will be packaged in gift boxes patterned with different William Morris designs chosen specifically for the respective releases. Morris was a forerunner of the Arts and Crafts movement, which promoted a return to traditional craftsmanship in the face of industrialisation; the movement drew upon folk and medieval styles of crafts, and this is reflected in the striking new packaging.
These new editions will be released yearly, and are strictly limited: this latest expression comprises only 1,680 bottles. This is a chance to get your hands on a rare whisky, presented in equally unusual packaging. Released to coincide with St George’s Day, this is a quintessentially English whisky that would make a wonderful gift.
