US vineyard Alexana Winery launches in the UK

Fans of US wine producer Alexana Winery can now purchase its products in the UK.

The Oregon-based winery, which is part of Revana Family Vineyards, has put a selection of its wines on sale through Winebuyers.com including pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot gris.

The wines now on sale in the UK are from three ranges: the Terroir Range, produced from single vineyards in the Willamette Valley; Alexana's Signature Range; and the Best Block.

Revana's estates in Oregon's Dundee Hills all prize terrior in the creation of their wines, with several different soil types across the Alexana Vineyard's 55-acre area. It is one of few vineyards in the Dundee Hills AVA (American Viticultural Area) which is southwest facing, meaning it enjoys afternoon sunshine and a cooling influence from the Pacific Ocean. It produces 17 bottlings, with total annual production of around 13,000 cases.

Alexana winemaker Bryan Weil said: "The complex wines we produce are known for elegance, minerality and concentrated fruit. The diverse terroir in the Dundee Hills gives a plush, expressive style. We are incredibly proud of the points that Alexana's wines have been scoring at home in the US, and we want to share these premium Oregon wines with the UK."

Alexana wines are available from Winebuyers.com by the bottle and by the case, with an RRP of £27 to £121 per bottle.
