A new range of premium canned cocktails and wines has hit the UK market.
Sipful Drinks is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Darius and Emily Darwell, who are aiming to capitalise on the growing market for ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails and wines - figures show the RTD wine market alone grew by 125 per cent in the year to August 2019 to top £3.6 million in value.
The couple say they were inspired by their experiences of hiking, camping and wild swimming in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Emily says, "Whenever we set out on an adventure together, we'd usually pop a craft beer or two in the rucksack. I was always hoping to find an alternative that would be more easy-drinking, but there just wasn't anything that provided the quality and natural taste I was looking for."
Darius adds, "If you're looking for something that uses natural ingredients and is free from additives - and, like us, you want to avoid using plastic or glass - the options are few and far between."
Using Emily's idea and Darius's experience as a professional brewer, they set about experimenting for their new brand, which they wanted to be a healthy alternative focused on natural flavour and ingredients.
The first line of the Sipful range includes a Classic Mimosa, a Blood Orange Mimosa and a Peach Bellini, all of which are made with real fruit, natural flavours and colours and are mixed with organic Spanish sparkling wine. The Airen white wine, from La Mancha in central Spain, is also available as a separate product.
The brand is hoping to expand its range in the near future to include a Sangria and a low and no-alcohol range.
Sipful drinks are currently available in giftsets of four or 12 from the company's website for £35.85 and from Amazon for £38.
