English brewer Hiver Beer has signed a deal with Waitrose which will put its Honey Blonde on shelves around the country.
The Honey Blonde is the company's original beer made with three raw honeys: Kent Apple Blossom, Kennington Urban and Yorkshire Heather. The honeys are added during rather than after the brewing process to give a more subtle sweetness.
With a strength of 4.5% ABV, Hiver says it's an easy-drinking and vegetarian beer with a golden hue and aromas of honey and biscuit.
Hiver Beer founder Hannah Rhodes, whose fascination with urban and rural beekeeping led her to create a honey beer, sources all her ingredients from UK suppliers and her honeys from independent beekeepers.
Hannah said: "My aim is to continue to make the freshest, best-tasting beer around, while following a strict code of sustainability. We will continue to produce premium craft beers that not only taste great, but save our bees and our planet, too."
Hiver is available to buy in Waitrose stores and directly from www.hiverbeers.com for a recommended price of £2. It can also be found behind the bar at The Dorchester, Novotel Hotels and Tom Kerridge's The Hand and Flowers.
