York Gin appoints local industry legend as sales manager

The York Gin Company has announced the appointment of local gin legend Adam Cook as sales manager.

Adam has been at the heart of Yorkshire's craft gin scene since its inception. He was the first full-time employee at Masons, one of the region's original craft gin brands, hosting gin masterclasses, representing the company at gin festivals and  growing its on-trade sales.

In 2018 he joined Sloemotion to support its brand development, particularly in the on-trade, and built and led a field sales team to increase product availability.

Of his new post, Adam says: "I've admired the York Gin brand since it appeared back in 2018. As a true Yorkie, I've kept a keen eye on the company as it proudly represents the city on the world stage. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to join a company whose ethos is to produce the best-quality gin while being as eco-friendly as possible.

"With ambitious future plans in the pipeline, York Gin is a positive and driven company to join. I'm delighted to now be a part of the team and am looking forward to introducing York Gin to the wider audience it deserves."

Peter McNichol, co-founder and sales director of York Gin, said: "Adam is a brilliant guy to work with, hugely knowledgeable about gin and the licenced trade. He's a real asset to the York Gin Company and we couldn't be happier to welcome him on board."
