Broadland Drinks is encouraging South American wine fans to enjoy a "treasure" of the Chilean mountains with a new product.
The Chilean Chardonnay from El Tesoro de las Montañas hails from the country's Central Valley, renowned for winemaking. Made using traditional methods and suitable for vegans, it joins other varieties in the wine brand's range including Malbec, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.
Liz Cobbold, marketing director at Broadland Drinks, said: "With increased at-home drinking as a result of Covid-19 lockdown measures, Chilean white wine is in demand, with sales up 22 per cent in the 25 weeks from lockdown.
"Furthermore, our research has shown that consumers are increasingly looking for recognisable and trustworthy South American wines, with the El Tesoro de las Montañas brand experiencing 215 per cent growth in the last 12 months. We are therefore delighted to introduce the Chilean Chardonnay to satisfy growing customer demand for this excellent range of wines.
"Literally translated, El Tesoro de las Montañas means 'the treasure of the mountains' and we believe this outstanding Chardonnay showcases what this great wine-growing nation, where the cool, clear water from the Andes helps to irrigate the vineyards below, can produce."
The El Tesoro de las Montañas Chilean Chardonnay will be on sale in the UK initially with the Co-op, in stores and online.
Based in Norfolk, UK, Broadland Drinks has staff in both the UK and US working on product development, design, distribution and promotion.
