Le Fée Absinthe unveils smaller bottles with pocket cocktail book

Absinthe maker Le Fée has announced the launch of a new bottle format for its flagship spirit La Fée Parisienne - which includes a pocket-sized cocktail guide.

With the 20cl bottle, La Fée has teamed up with Difford's Guide to put together a detachable 12-page cocktail guide, which is integated into the bottle label. There is also a QR code on the label which takes consumers to the Difford's website and a further 180 La Fée cocktails to create at home.

As well as serving up the origins of La Fée and the history of the infamous French spirit, the book gives tips on how to drink absinthe from the traditional sugar and water to modern twists on classic cocktails.

In addition to its innovative label, the 20cl bottle also incorporates a pop-up pourer for ease of service. The product has a recommended price of £14.50 and will be available throughout the UK through Cellar Trends.

La Fée has attempted to position itself as a leader in absinthe since founder George Rowley sought to ressurect the category in 1998. Since then, the company has worked with the French Absinthe Museum to restore the drink in the popular consciousness and in the cocktail world.

Mr Rowley said: "Absinthe has been synonymous with cocktail culture since the very beginning, and with our new 20cl we are giving bars the chance to bring absinthe from the back of the bar to the front, without the need for bartenders to decant into smaller bottles.

"We also recognised that as at-home consumption of cocktails continues to grow, we wanted to give the consumer an affordable but authentic absinthe offering, as well as a way to educate the consumers through our tear-off cocktail book and easy link off-pack to Difford's Guide to Cocktails."
