Perrier-Jouët introduces eco gift box collection for classic champagnes

Champagne house Maison Perrier-Jouët is helping its fans to celebrate Christmas in a greener way this year with a new collection of fully recyclable gift boxes.

The range of boxes for its classic non-vintage champagnes - Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, Blason Rosé and Blanc de Blancs - is the result of two years of research and development by the company to marry its focus on sustainability with a regard for aesthetics.

Produced from natural fibre sourced from certified forests in northern Europe, and embossed with water-based ink free from mineral oils, the boxes are the latest step in Perrier-Jouët's journey to make its entire gifting offer fully sustainable by 2022. In addition, the house has introduced recyclable shipping cases created from grass paper.

The boxes are white in colour - inspired by the chalky soils of the Champagne region - and are embossed with the brand's recognisable anemone emblem. They will be available globally at various retailers including Fortnum & Mason and Ocado.

Séverine Frerson, cellar master at Maison Perrier-Jouët, said: "For more than two centuries, Maison Perrier-Jouët has maintained a symbiotic relationship with nature which we are incredibly proud of. Our founders Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët were renowned for their keen interest in botany and for their progressive ideas on natural viticulture. Today, nature remains at the very heart of the house, and has provided inspiration for this exquisite gift box collection."
