The Dublin Liberties Distillery is giving consumers the chance to invest in the fast-growing Irish whiskey category with the opportunity to purchase a rare whiskey cask.
To celebrate the launch of its Founders Cask Programme, 30 of the first casks produced by the state-of-the-art distillery in central Dublin will be made available to buy for the price of €3,000 - a little over half their market value. The casks will be available for buyers in Ireland and the UK to purchase individually, or as part of a syndicate with family, friends or business partners.
Each first-fill ex-Bourbon cask is filled with 200 litres of new make spirit and will produce around 280 bottles of single malt Irish whiskey.
As part of the cask offer, purchasers will get 10 years of warehousing and insurance, with the opportunity to extend the maturation period or experiment with alternative casks for an additional fee; access to master distiller Darryl McNally annually to discuss the maturation process, options for their whiskey and developments at the distillery; and annual sampling opportunities at the Dublin Liberties Distillery's warehousing site to monitor their whiskey's development.
Darryl McNally said: "Making whiskey is my passion, my lifeblood, and to be doing it in the heart of Dublin's historic distilling district is nothing short of a dream come true for me. We're thrilled to be inviting whiskey fans, old and new, to join us on our journey with the Founders Cask Programme and I'm personally looking forward to meeting everyone down at the distillery when life returns to normal."
The Dublin Liberties Distillery, part of Quintessential Brands Group, boasts two tonne mashing, triple distillation, and the capacity to produce more than 700,000 litres of pure alcohol annually.
