Heaven Hill fills its nine millionth barrel of Bourbon

Kentucky's Heaven Hill Distillery has seen in the new year by filling its nine millionth barrel of Bourbon - the first independent, family-owned and operated company to reach this milestone.

The filling of the barrel on 30 December wrapped up a successful year for the American whiskey maker, which is now aging more than 1.8 million barrels across 63 warehouses.

2020 also saw the completion of its new Bourbon Heritage Centre tasting rooms and retail outlet, which is set to open in early summer 2021, as well as the launch of new products such as Larcey Barrel Proof and the Elijah Craig Straight Rye and Toasted Barrel whiskies.

The nine millionth barrel will be displayed in Rickhouse Y alongside Heaven Hill's other milestone barrels.

Max Shapira, president of Heaven Hill, said: "In a year defined by teamwork and perseverance, we celebrate another historic Heaven Hill milestone as we fill the nine millionth barrel of Bourbon. This rare achievement in the industry is testament to Heaven Hill's commitment to quality and consistency since 1935."

Heaven Hill's Bernheim distillery is the largest single-site Bourbon distillery in the US, producing 1,300 barrels a day. Its portfolio includes Bourbon brands Larceny, Elijah Craig and Evan Williams, Pikesville Rye Whiskey, Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey, and Parker's Heritage Collection.
