Wemyss Malts has announced the launch of its first ever single malt Scotch whisky.
Untold Riches was crafted with 28-year-old unpeated Bunnahabhain single malt, taken from 31 sherry hogsheads and butts.
Edinburgh-based independent bottler Wemyss says the resulting whisky has "an abundance of cereal and dried fruit flavours, an oily, mouth-coating body and a subtle saffron spice finish".
Untold Riches is the first single malt whisky release from Wemyss Malts, which specialises in small-batch blended malts and also releases a number of single cask single malts each year.
The 49.1% ABV, non-chill filtered whisky will be available from wemyssmalts.com from 25 January and from independent spirits retailers in the UK, Europe and Asia from February, in a 70cl bottle and gift box.
Its release comes after the company unveiled a redesign for its core range in late 2020.
