Souther Glazer's signs deal with Foley Family Wines

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits has signed a national distribution deal with Foley Family Wines (FFW).

A family-owned and operated producer and marketer of luxury wines, FFW was established in 1996 by Bill Foley and now manages a portfolio of wines from a number of highly acclaimed vineyards.

The company owns 15 estates across California, including in Napa Valley and Sonoma County, seven estates in New Zealand, including in the celebrated winemaking region of Marlborough, and three estates in the Northwest US states of Washington and Oregon.

Through the new deal, US-based beverage alcohol distributor Southern Glazer's will help FFW achieve greater national scale, open up new route-to-market capabilities, and support sales and expansion through its e-commerce platform.

Running in tandem with this national distribution deal, Southern Glazer's has also signed agreements to acquire certain assets of California-based Epic Wines & Spirits, also run by the Foley family, subject to conditions.

These announcements coincide with the launch of Southern Glazer's new Fine Wine and Artisanal Spirits strategy, aimed at enhancing routes to market and customer service aspects for its hospitality, fine wine and craft spirits partners.

Wayne E. Chaplin, CEO of Southern Glazer's, said: "This is a new era for Foley Family Wines, following its recent acquisition of Ferrari-Carano, as it looks to accelerate growth for its world-class portfolio across the US.

"Our two family-owned businesses are committed to working together to build on past successes, further develop its great brands, and create a long-term and fruitful partnership well into the future."

Bill Foley, CEO of Foley Family Wines and Epic Wines & Spirits, said: "As the FFW portfolio of luxury brands continues to grow, it is imperative that we align ourselves with a wholesale partner who has broad route-to-market capability.

"This national alignment with Southern Glazer's will provide FFW unmatched access to a customer base that will help catapult FFW toward our goal of becoming a top producer of luxury wines."
