Hornitos Tequila launches hard seltzer range

Tequila brand Hornitos has announced the launch of a range of ready-to-drink seltzers.

The Hornitos Tequila Selzters hit shelves in the US this week and are available in two flavours: Lime and Mango. Each variant is 5% ABV, contains less than 115 calories and is made without artificial ingredients or sweeteners. 

They join Hornitos' portfolio alongside its Plata, Reposado, Añejo, Cristalino and Black Barrel Tequila expressions. 

Founded by Don Francisco more than 70 years ago, Hornitos Tequila prides itself on its 'shot-taking' philosophy, which it claims has driven its dive into the increasingly popular hard seltzer market.

Rashidi Hodari, managing director of Tequila at Beam Suntory, said: "The Tequila and ready-to-drink cocktail segments are two of the fastest-growing segments in the spirits category right now, with hard seltzer retail sales up 225 per cent in the last year alone.

"With our pioneering history, we're excited to seize this momentum and bring Tequila and seltzer together to deliver a whole new Hornitos Tequila experience for those looking for a refreshing, premium ready-to-drink beverage."
