New 'light' vodka products launch to welcome in warmer months

Two new vodka-based products capturing the low-calorie and low-ABV markets are launching in the UK in time for summer.

It comes amid a slow easing of Covid-19 restrictions across the UK, allowing outdoor social gatherings to take place as the weather warms.

Pinnacle Vodka has announced a new low-cal product line, Pinnacle Light & Ripe, created with natural ingredients and without added sugar.

It launches with two flavours, Apricot Honeysuckle and Guava Lime, which are both fewer than 75 calories per serve.

Meanwhile CleanCo, the low-ABV spirits brand founded by Made In Chelsea's Spencer Matthews, has used vodka as the inspiration for its latest product.

CleanVodka Spiced Apple is the result of a number of requests to the company for a lower-ABV vodka substitute. It follows the launch of its CleanGin range and its CleanRum (both 1.2% ABV) in 2020.

Matthews said: "Vodka is a huge spirits category, however it is typically under-represented in the no and low world. This is due to the fact it is a pure alcohol, and therefore difficult to substitute or replicate in flavour. It takes time and precision to replicate, but a challenge we were keen to explore."

CleanCo recommends serving its CleanVodka mixed with soda and a slice of lime.
