Spirits brand the RedLeg Rum Company has announced the launch of its third flavoured expression: RedLeg Tropical Rum.
The new flavour blends RedLeg Spiced Rum - which is distilled in the Caribbean and infused with Jamaican ginger and vanilla - with natural mango, guava and passion fruit.
It is set to build on the success of the brand's previous flavoured releases, RedLeg Pineapple Rum and RedLeg Banana Rum. RedLeg says the new release pairs well with simple mixers or could be used to add a tropical twist to classic cocktails such as a Daiquiri or Mojito.
Sarah Kingsbury, marketing manager at the RedLeg Rum Company, said: "Following the success of existing flavours RedLeg Pineapple Rum and RedLeg Banana Rum, we're excited to introduce RedLeg Tropical Rum to the family.
"The flavours have been instrumental in recruiting new consumers to the brand and have delivered incremental sales, and we're confident that RedLeg Tropical Rum will continue to build on this success."
News of the launch came alongside a trading update from RedLeg owner Distil plc for the 12 months to 31 March 2021. The company saw revenues increase by 48 per cent to around £3.6 million, while volumes increased by 30 per cent across its portfolio of brands, which also incudes Blackwoods Gin and Vodka.
Despite challenges from Covid-19 and investment in new product development, Distil said it was expecting EBITDA (profits before interest and tax) to increase by around 55 per cent to £302,000.
