With the creation of a new giftbox for its classic collection, Perrier-Jouët has accomplished a true masterpiece.

This champagne house, founded in 1811, has spent two years developing a new packaging concept that is in line with its founders’ principle to make wine while respecting the environment.

The result is second to none. Perrier-Jouët has created a minimalist design that preserves resources yet commands attention when on display.

The Art Nouveau-inspired flower pattern showcases impressive embossing with no need for additional pomp – only the house name is printed and embellished with water-based ink. Paying homage to the chalky subsoil of the Champagne region, the simple white surface of the carton is wonderfully tactile and just begs to be touched.

This unique embossing is possible thanks to BillerudKorsnäs’ FibreForm paper that has extremely high tensile stretch and tearing resistance. KAPAG Karton + Papier AG laminates FibreForm to create a multiply paperboard that can be employed for primary or secondary packaging. Specialised technical knowledge is required to laminate this highly flexible paper into a paperboard that can handle the demanding offset print and converting processes.

But it is not just the design or the cartonboard that makes this packaging so special. The craftmanship of French convertor Le Sanglier has further cultivated the interaction between paperboard and embossing tool.

Perrier-Jouët has reduced its use of materials by 30 per cent for this exclusive gift packaging. FibreForm paperboard is made from 100 per cent FSC-certified virgin fibres sourced from responsibly managed forests. Print inks and glue are free of mineral oils.

This magnificent gift box reflects Perrier-Jouët’s symbiotic relationship with nature, and the house’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
