New UK-based independent drinks company Upbeat Spirits has launched its first product: a spiced rum.
8Track, which owes its name to the recording medium, was born from a shared love of music among the brand's founders and is designed to be enjoyed neat over ice or in cocktails.
It is a bespoke blend of rums from Guyana and Barbados, infused with sustainably sourced Seville oranges, vanilla, cloves, ginger and cinnamon. Upbeat says the resulting spirit is 'smooth and zestful' with flavours of fresh citrus and warm spice.
As well as sustainably sourced ingredients, 8Track uses lightweight recycled glass for its bottles, which are 100 per cent recyclable, and is partnering with paper packaging firm Flexi-Hex to offer sustainable, plastic-free packaging solutions.
8Track (37.5% ABV) is available nationwide in the UK (RRP £28.50 per 70cl bottle) from 8trackrum.com and Master of Malt. On-trade sales are also available through St Austell Brewery.
