Scottish gin brand Caorunn has joined forces with artist Chelsea Frew to create its first nationwide TV advertising campaign.
Founded in 2009, Caorunn is distilled at the Balmenach Distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
Titled 'Gin Genius', the new animated advert showcases the brand's home as well as its 1920s copper berry chamber, a piece of equipment originally used in the perfume industry which the Caorunn team reengineered for distilling. It then goes on to explore the Scottish landscape, where five botanicals for Caorunn are foraged.
The TV advert - created by The Leith Agency and produced by Tanami, with initial illustrations by Chelsea Frew - made its on-air debut earlier this month. It will run across Sky channels through the summer and will also be used for regional video and on-demand services.
Gillian Gibson, Caorunn's brand manager, said: "Ingenuity is our secret ingredient. It was always clear to us that we had the story of our genuinely unique processes to act as the foundation for our brand offering and share with our customers.
"Ingenuity is our thread through the entire brand story; it drives everything we do on all levels and differentiates us in a competitive space. And so, 'Gin Genius' was born."
Caorunn marketing manager Lynne Buckley said: "The TV advert is testament to us really understanding what our customers want to know from us. They learn how we fuse centuries-old traditions together with innovative taste profiles and ingredients for an extraordinary gin that they will want to share."
The TV campaign will be supported by PR, social media and other activities, to be revealed later in 2021.
