The Label Makers, has worked with independent gin makers York Gi n to create distinctive label designs for the distiller’s new look range of six gins.
The label manufacturer worked on the London Dry, Roman Fruit, Outlaw Navy Strength, Grey Lady, Old Tom and Chocolate & Orange expressions. The labels were produced for both 70cl bottles and 5cl miniatures.
The labels were printed on paper made using 50 per cent grass fibres. A distinctive natural variation in colour and fleck up-turn gives a rustic craft appearance. The label design echoes the castellated York City walls; this detail being picked out using a tactile high build varnish, with its gloss finish contrasting with the matt label appearance giving the label added shelf appeal.
An embossed border adds further detail and reinforces the careful attention to detail in producing this premium crafted gin. Touches of gold and orange foil add flashes of reflectance and are mirrored in the tamper seals which also feature the studded emboss.
York Gin’s Emma Godivala, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the labels. They complement the bottles perfectly, look top notch and are fantastic quality.
“We are trying to use local companies as much as possible. It’s all part of our attempt to minimise our impact on the environment and give our custom to local Yorkshire businesses, so The Label Makers are a good fit for us. They listen carefully and work very well under time pressure. When we develop new flavours and products, we will be straight on the phone to them again.”
The Label Makers’ Kevin Lyons added: “We were delighted to work with York Gin in creating their new labels. Our highly skilled team is used to finding solutions to complex briefs and will go the extra mile to make sure the product is brilliant. The look and feel of the end-result is stunning.”
