Havana Club launches arcade-style game

Havana Club has unveiled its first move into the gaming market, in a bid to improve its engagement with 'Gen Z' consumers around the world.

Havana Club Quest is a retro-inspired game that takes players on a journey through the symbols of the rum brand's heartland, Cuba. The emblem of Havana, the Giraldilla, is brought to life as the protagonist and is tasked with fighting off monsters as she moves through the streets and bars of Old Havana.

Players are guided through three competitive levels, where they collect cocktail accessories and Havana Club bottles to earn points. The game will be available to play on desktop devices for six months, and there are also several contests scheduled, with Havana Club prizes up for grabs for players who top the leader board. 

Anne Martin, global marketing director of Havana Club, said: "Following 18 months of lockdowns and restrictions, we wanted to provide some light-hearted escapism, and what better way to do this than through gaming - an evolving space that we know is popular with Gen Z consumers.

"Not only does this arcade-style game explore our innovative range and heritage, it also takes users on a journey through Havana - the city that we call home. We wanted to create a memorable and meaningful experience for Havana Club fans across the world, and we're confident that this will enable us to do just that."
