The World Vodka Awards has named the winners in its 2022 competition.
Commending excellence in the vodka category, the awards judge spirits in four categories: Pure Neutral, Varietal, Infused and Botanical, and Flavoured.
New Zealand's Broken Heart Vodka won the title of World's Best Pure and Neutral Vodka; Silvergrain Vodka from the United States took home the prize for World's Best Varietal; Zubrowka Bison Grass from Poland was named World's Best Infused and Botanical; and the World's Best Flavoured title went to fellow Polish producer Vestal for its Polish Black Cherry Vodka.
The World Vodka Awards (part of the World Drinks Awards) see a panel of expert judges taste spirits from around the world to decide the best entries from each country in each category. These country winners then go on to compete against each other for the title of World's Best.
The awards also include a design element, which is being judged separately from the taste awards this year due to the pandemic.
"Our judges were faced with a truly exceptional range of vodkas," said Anita Ujszaszi, director of the World Vodka Awards.
"Traditionally, the tasting process takes place in London... However, our panel of international industry experts was able to complete all tastings from home again this year; this meant we could ensure the safety of all involved, while still upholding our rigorous judging standards."
