Bladnoch releases Alinta peated single malt whisky

Bladnoch has announced the addition of a new peated single malt whisky to its Classic Collection.

Alinta is the first peated whisky released by the Scotch Lowlands distillery since it was taken over by David Prior in 2015.

The expression takes its name from an Indigenous Australian word meaning 'fire' or 'flames'. The peated spirit was aged in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry and ex-Bourbon casks and is bottled at 47% ABV without added colour or chill filtration.

Dr Nick Savage, Bladnoch's master distiller, said: "Alinta is the first peated expression from Bladnoch within our core range and will become an established part of our ongoing whisky releases. Focusing on a very small annual peat production campaign, only a small volume will ever become releases.

"The exquisite combination of the PX sherry and Bourbon casks gives Alinta an amazing balance of rich raisin-like sweetness and smoky campfire."

Bladnoch Alinta will be available at the distillery visitor centre, as well as online through The Whisky Exchange and bladnoch.com. Distribution will be expanded worldwide through Bladnoch's international partners in the coming months.
