Warner's launches Nature Marque accreditation for pubs

English gin maker Warner's Distillery has introduced its own accreditation scheme for UK publicans who are doing their bit to protect nature and biodiversity.

The Warner's Nature Marque, a first-of-its-kind initiative for a spirits brand, commends pubs that have taken steps to make their outdoor spaces welcoming for nature.

The scheme has been created in partnership with and with guidance from the Wildlife Trust Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northhamptonshire, local to Warner's' home at Falls Farm.

To gain accreditation, pubs will be guided through a review of their outdoor space and shown different ways to help nature. Pubs of all sizes and in all locations, from rural to urban, are being encouraged to participate.

To raise awareness for the new scheme, the distillery has teamed up with Emmy and BAFTA award-winning documentary filmmaker and wildlife photographer Doug Allan to produce the first wildlife documentary shot entirely in a pub garden.

In a release, the Warner's Distillery team said: "We believe we have a responsibility to take care of nature the way she has taken care of us, so we are incredibly proud to announce the launch of Nature Marque: a first-of-its-kind initiative that will support our mission through the transformation of spaces."

More information on the Nature Marque accreditation scheme is available on the Warner's Distillery website.
