Patrón Tequila and Lalique have announced the launch of their third collaboration together, Patrón en Lalique: Serie 3, ahead of National Tequila Day on 24 July.
Master Distiller David Rodriguez and his team have curated a blend of extra añejo tequilas said to be so rare that it can never be replicated. A total of 14 different tequilas aged for up to 8 years in French and American oak casks were chosen and fused together to create the expression.
Rodriguez commented: “Our familia of talented craftsmen are constantly experimenting to create bold innovations that stay true to the Patrón commitment to handcrafted perfection. We explored many combinations of extra añejo tequilas before landing on the liquid excellence that can be found in Patrón en Lalique: Serie 3.”
The release will include a limited number of just 299 bottles worldwide, with an RRP of an estimated US $7,500. The 750ml bottles will be available worldwide in a variety of fine sprits stores and on BlockBar, a direct to consumer NFT marketplace for fine wine and spirits.
Each decanter has been handmade and individually numbered at Lalique’s factory in Wingen-sur-Moder, Alasce, France.
The producer has described the taste of the liquid as featuring hints of spices, dried fruits, sherry wine and intense wood.
The first collaboration between Patrón and Lalique started in 2015 with the release of Serie 1, inspired by the Patrón bottle design, with Serie 2 soon following in 2017.
On the third collaboration, Lalique Chairman and CEO Silvio Denz said: “With this series we pushed the boundaries of art even further with the design of our decanter that celebrates the natural and raw materials that go into every drop of Patrón Tequila. Much like the masters at Patrón, at Lalique we pride ourselves on achieving excellence in everything we do.”
