Takamaka Rum has launched a travel retail boutique in its home nation of the Seychelles.
The brand's new hospitality and retail space at Seychelles International Airport is designed to showcase its range of Seychellois rums to travellers.
Located on the first floor of the international departures lounge, the retail space has the full range of Takamaka rums available to purchase - including the recently released St Andre Series premium range - alongside travel retail-exclusive merchandise. The adjoining bar is modelled on a beach hut bar and serves the Tamaka rums in a range of classic and modern cocktails.
The space was designed by Pearlfisher, which recently redesigned Takamaka's brand identity and product packaging. It loudly trumpets Takamaka's Seychellois heritage, with driftwood-inspired flooring, tables constucted from ex-rum barrels, and tropical accents inspired by the country's flag.
Richard d'Offay, Takamaka co-founder, said: "For the last 20 years, our goal has been to create rums that offer a taste of the Seychelles to people around the world, and our achievements in the gobal travel retail space have shown us just how well received this is.
"Regional GTR business has gone from strength to strength as we continue to grow both our footprint and volumes that reflect the strong regional travel numbers. At home in the Seychelles, 2022 has seen a resurgence of travellers and therefore this was the perfect time to invest in our very first owned travel retail outlet."
Florence Marengo, general manager for commercial at Seychelles International Airport, said: "The Takamaka outlet is a unique addition to the commercial offerings at Seychelles International Airport, in that it guarantees an authentic guest experience like no other. Our customers will now have the opportunity to savour an array of beverages, whilst they immerse themselves in the comfor and richness of the Takamaka rum tradition and depart with a souvenir gift and wonderful memories of their time in the Seychelles."
Takamaka Rum is produced at the Trois Freres Distillery, founded by Bernard and Richard d'Offay wth the intention of sharing the spirit of the Seychelles through its drinks.
