Three Wrens launches Bison Grass Rum

English gin distillery Three Wrens has branched out into rum with its latest spirit release.

Three Wrens Bison Grass Rum is distilled with five botanicals including raw cacao, then infused with its namesake ingredient alongside tonka beans, vanilla pods and cinnamon.

To create the spirit, the distillery steeps a molasses-based Caribbean rum with botanicals and re-distils. The spirit then undergoes a two-week maceration period before being filtered and bottled at 40% ABV.

Bison grass - an ingredient more commonly associated with vodka - is grown organically at the distillery for in-house use and is used to flavour Three Wrens' range of gins as well as the new rum.

Nick Wadeson, owner of Three Wrens Distillery, said: "We've distilled gin for several years now, and we do it very well. The support of local businesses and the general public has been phenomenal ever since launching, and we always want to give our customers more.

"Flavoured rum was the next logical step for us. It's been growing in popularity in both households and bars and restaurants in recent years, and we know we can create amazing flavours here at our distillery that everybody is going to fall in love with."

Three Wrens Bison Grass Rum is available to consumers and trade through local stockists in Cheshire, and at threewrensgin.com.
