Maison Courvoisier introduces Courvoisier XO Royal

Maison Courvoisier has introduced its latest expression, Courvoisier XO Royal. Launching across the globe, the spirit is inspired by cognac blends which are said to have graced royal courts in Europe throughout the 20thcentury.

In order to complement the range of previous Courvoisier expressions, the brand's sixth chief blender, Patrice Pinet, has revived the marriage of old Fins Bois de Jarnac with a selection of carefully selected Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie to create the new release. It marks almost four decades of Pinet's work with Maison Courvoisier.

Chief blender Pinet said: “It is a privilege to pay homage to Maison Courvoisier’s historic recipe crafted centuries ago for distinguished royalty. Courvoisier XO Royal marries exceptionally rare eaux-de-vie to create a full-bodied blend that balances heritage, craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation. The long and powerful finish is symbolic of the regal cognac chosen by kings and queens, and it is my honour to introduce this exceptionally special cognac.”

Royal will retail at an RRP of £280 will be released this month. UK availability will include Harrods and Harvey Nichols, with each bottle crafted in a teardrop shape to honor the brand’s fourth chief blender Daniel Dumon.
