To celebrate the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Rabbit, Ferrand Cognac has launched 10 Générations, a special edition double-matured Premier Cru de Cognac which pays tribute to 10 generations of the Ferrand family.
In tribute to the Chinese New Year, and with a nod to the number eight, the expression is bottled at 88 proof.
The expression is presented in a red and gold package, with intertwining golden roots decorating the label, said to depict the profiles of all generations of Elie Ferrands. A golden rabbit outline is made up from the roots, too, in another nod to the Year of the Rabbit.
10 Générations Port Cask is first aged in French oak casks before a second maturation in Port wine casks.
The producer has described the liquid as having aromas of vanilla, caramel and almond with notes of white chocolate with baked pear, vanilla and roasted chestnut on the palate. It’s finish is described as very long and creamy.
Bottled at 44% ABV, the cognac available at Master of Malt at an RRP of £43.95.
