SPECIAL REPORT: Duppy Share Rum teams with celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott

UK premium rum brand Duppy Share has paired up with celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott to create a series of authentic food recipes paired with the brand’s cocktails, ahead of a 'Summer of Rum'.

Harriott has created a range of inspired Caribbean recipes as part of the Pairing is Sharing campaign launched by Duppy Share. The cocktail recipes provided by the brand can be recreated at home.

Commenting on the partnership, Harriott said: “Caribbean food always brings you sunshine on a plate and a gorgeous rum cocktail brings you sunshine in a glass - that's why I'm so delighted to team up with my friends at Duppy Share to help create the fantastic Pairing Is Sharing experience. Both rum and Caribbean food are more popular than ever right now and I'm loving the opportunity to work with the Duppy Share team to bring plenty of sunshine, flavour and smiles to the table.”

The Duppy Share cocktails have been developed by Portobello Road rum bar Trailer Happiness owner Sly Augustin.

Having grown up watching him on television, it was clear that his personality and values were the perfect match for Duppy Share. Ainsley has always made food accessible, delicious and fun, just like our rums. The team at Duppy Share have created a bespoke Ainsley Pairing is Sharing Kit available on their website from this week. The kit will include taster bottles of all rums featured as well as recipe cards. £1 from each of the Kits and £1 from any Duppy Share bottle sold on the Duppy Share website will be donated to the Alpha Boys Music School in Jamaica which Ainsley’s Dad attended.

Harriott’s recipes paired with Augustin’s cocktails:

Jerk King Prawns with Duppy Aged Rum, Crispy Plantain and Avocado paired with Duppy Blitz

  • Main Course

Coconut & Duppy Spiced Rum Chicken Skewers with Pineapple Slaw and Coriander Roti paired with The Duppy Colada

  • Dessert

Ainsley’s Tropical Tiramisu with Duppy XO, Sweet Mango and Creamy Mascarpone paired with The Duppy Old Fashioned
