Isle of Raasay and Selfridges partner for new release

Isle of Raasay and Selfridges have partnered on the release of a new peated expression, with the whisky only be sold exclusively on Selfridges online store as well as Selfridges London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The whisky was matured in ex rye casks said to build layers of peppery spice and black pepper to the spirits’ flavour profile. It was then further matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry quarter casks, resulting in notes of almond, nuts and sweet fruit on the palate, according to the producers.

The entire distillation, maturation and bottling took place on the Isle of Raasay, with only 166 bottles produced in total.

The spirit is bottled at natural cask strength with an ABV of 56.3% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered. It is priced at £99.99 for a 70cl bottle.

Earlier this year, the distillery released an exclusive blend of sherry and ex-Manzanilla Pasada casks, titled Tourism Destination of the Year, with more than 2,000 bottles of this particular expression made available.
